Shiverclan: Ranks & Information

Leader: Fallenstar- A pale brown tabby she-cat with white socks. Her eyes are amber.

Deputy: Lightstrike- A white tom with pale golden streaks through his fur. His eyes are blue, shot through with vibrant gold.

Medicine cat: Icemoon- A sleek, white-furred tom with blue-gray paws and mask. He has a stripe the same color running from the back of his neck to his tail, which is all gray. His eyes are crystal-clear blue.

Medicine cat apprentice: Firepaw- A ginger tabby she-cat with dark brownish eyes. She is somewhat deaf in one ear, which was torn by a dog.

Warriors: Robinsong- A thin-furred, chocolate brown she-cat with bright amber eyes.

Quickstrike- A silver tom with clear-ish white stripe like markings on his pelt. His eyes are cold blue. Mate to Frozenheart.

Redfoot- A ginger tabby tom with bright green eyes.

Rockypath- A mottled brown, ginger, and black tom with gray eyes. Mate to Willowbranch.

Swanfeather- A pure white she-cat with blue eyes.

Viperclaw- A dark gray tabby tom with orange eyes.

Mildflame- A light brown tabby she-cat with ginger marks like fire. Her eyes are bright amber.

Harshfrost- A frosty white tom with brown tabby stripes and blue eyes.

Sundapple- A dark brown she-cat with bright golden spots and green eyes.

Phantomsight- A pure black tom with dark gold eyes.

Apprentices: Mistypaw- A gray tabby she-cat with a darker gray throat and chest. Her eyes are toxic green.

Mintpool- A pretty, slim gray she-cat with mint coloured eyes. She has black rings around her eyes, along her tail, and down her legs. Her mate is unknown.

Frozenheart- A pale gray she-cat with blue-gray tabby stripes and icy blue eyes. Mate to Quickstrike.

Kits: Sagekit- A light brown tabby she-cat with pale gray eyes.

Harekit- A white tom dappled with brown. His eyes are green.

Elders: Gingerstripe- An elderly light ginger tabby tom with dark amber eyes.




While lacking the huge amount of water and mist in Fogclan, Shiverclan still has a plentiful water supply, with several rivers crossing through its territory. The land itself isn't flat, having many hills and slopes. Forested with a mix of deciduous trees and pines, there is a large amount of undergrowth and small prey such as mice, rabbits, shrews, voles, squirrels, and occasional birds. Fish are also commonly caught in the rivers. The territory runs right up to the base of the eastern mountains. To the south lies Fogclan, and to the west, Lightningclan.

Important areas

~Camp- chosen for the comfortable space and defendable location, the camp is relatively secluded. It is actually set up with rivers surrounding it, making it difficult for invaders (save for Fogclan) to access it. Three of the four sides have thick thorn barriers, and the last has two ancient trees on either side, with the entrance in between. The warriors' and apprentices' dens are in the roots of these trees. The leader's den is partway up the same tree containing the warriors' den, as well as the Owlbranch - the meeting place. The medicine cat's den is a mostly open area surrounded by bushes, with about a third of it protected by a large rock overhead. The elders' den and nursery are each situated within large bushes, reinforced to keep out the rain.

~Skyhill- In the event of a flood, the Clan would be forced to leave their camp or drown. So, they set up the Skyhill, an emergency camp near their border with the eastern mountains. It is actually larger than the original camp, but is not preferred due to the lack of concealment. It's kept in careful repair, just in case.

~Lilypad Lake- In the far reaches of the Clan's territory, there is a small lake covered in lily pads. Lore and rumors surrounds this otherwise peaceful location.




Shiverclan's Beginning
Shiverclan is the valley's eldest Clan. All legends aside, they came to be in the valley when an adventurous young cat by the name of Shiver led a small group of friends up into the treacherous mountains. They would have all died if two ancient cats - their names being Star and Moon - hadn't taken pity on them. Shiver and her companions were led to a beautiful valley. It was revealed, to their shock, that their saviors were not truly alive, but spirits that had taken it upon themselves to watch over them. Shiver was graced with nine lives, and, in honor of the two cats, took up the name Shiverstar. Likewise, their healer became known as Palemoon. Even today, giving a medicine cat the name 'moon' is a strong tradition (only in Shiverclan), with few exceptions.

Shiverclan's Flight
Several moons after settling into the valley, the small Clan was forced to deal with a sudden, alarming threat; huge creatures, never before seen, prowling into their plentiful territory. At first, it was hardly a concern - after all, the territory was large enough to support several times the number of cats present. That changed very quickly when the beasts, so much like cats but so much larger, began to prey on the Clan. After the deaths of three Clanmates, Shiverstar reluctantly led her Clan beyond their territory. This led to the discovery of a beautiful, starlit waterfall, and it was quickly realized the spirits of Star and Moon were strong there. Under the guidance of the trusted souls, it was decided that they would have to leave the valley. Beyond that, they were unsure. Shiverstar was left with the simple message: "Look to the Moon for aid in your darkest hour."
And so, the Clan went on their second journey into the unknown - The Flight, it was later referred to. Attempts to find a suitable place to live failed, and they began to lose faith in finding a new life. That was when they stumbled upon Blizzard: an arrogant, yet powerful leader. Then there was his heir - young, cunning Raven. Blizzard himself had taken over an old family: the family of Moon. It was Palemoon who immediately made the connection between these strange cats and the cryptic message left for them.
A deal was struck: in return for Blizzard's help in defeating the creatures (mountain lions, they were called), they would receive part of Shiverclan's enormous territory. Blizzard's cats had a harsh life and little prey in their current home. With this agreement in place, the combined Clans returned to the valley, successfully driving out the several mountain lions that had taken up residence. Blizzard and his cats settled on the far side of the valley, mostly on the inhabitable areas of the western mountains.

The Alliance
Shiverclan cats preferred to get along with each of the other Clans. As such, when Rainstar, the only kittypet leader in the history of the valley, became Fogclan's leader, they did not take part in the clash of Lightningclan and Fogclan. Silentstar did not wish to favor one of their allies over the other. Of course, that quickly changed when a terrible sickness swept through Fogclan, ending in the death of several cats - including both Blackice and Robinwing, their medicine cats. Lightningclan moved to take advantage of this weakness, and Silentstar stepped in to defend the nearly destroyed Clan. Lightningclan, not expecting the sudden involvement, fell against the retaliation and gave in to a strained peace. While not nearly as bad as the one Lightningclan holds against Fogclan, there is a slight amount of animosity between them and Shiverclan. Fogclan, however, became loyal allies, and both sides even consented to allowing Fogclan's next medicine cat to be trained by Shiverclan's own Sandmoon.  




~Unlike the other Clans, Shiverclan holds an ancient tradition of granting the name 'moon' to their medicine cat, much like how a leader gains the name 'star'.

~While peaceful with the other two Clans, Shiverclan holds a strong alliance with Fogclan.

~Tabby cats, regardless of the pattern's color, are incredibly common due to their forested territory.

Shiverstar- A slim gray she-cat with a white mask and pale blue eyes. The first Shiverclan leader.

Palemoon- A pale silver tabby she-cat with light yellow eyes. The first Shiverclan medicine cat.

Lotuslight- A once beautiful white she-cat with pale, yellow-green eyes. One of the original cats to come to the valley with Shiverstar.

Yelloweye- A brown tabby tom with gold eyes. One of the original cats to come to the valley with Shiverstar.

Aloestar- A cream-furred tom with green eyes. Shiverstar's first deputy.

Silentstar- A pale gray tabby tom with yellow eyes. The leader who came to Fogclan's aid during the most recent war.

Sandmoon- A tan she-cat with brown tabby stripes and green eyes.

Sootstar- An ashy gray tom with black spots and pale green eyes. The leader just before Fallenstar. Father of Mildflame, Littlekit, and Snowstreak.

Littlekit- A light tabby gray tom with pale amber eyes. Died shortly after birth. Son of Sootstar.

Snowstreak- A snowy white she-cat with blue eyes. The daughter of Sootstar and mate to Ravenstripe.

Ravenstripe- A black and dark gray tabby tom with sightless green eyes. The son of Fallenstar and mate to Snowstreak.
