Leader: Eaglestar- A large brown tom with dark golden eyes.

Deputy: Berrystream- A pure black tom with bright gold eyes.

Medicine cat: Thistletail- A rocky gray she-cat with swirling, light gray patterns and gold eyes. The fur on her tail sticks up all the time.

Medicine cat apprentice: Birdpaw- A young, pale gold she-cat with hazel eyes.

Warriors: Softbreeze- A petite, light brown she-cat with silvery eyes. 

Flameleap- A light gold tom with brighter golden eyes. The end of his tail is bitten off. Patchpelt is his mate.

Tawnyfur- A golden she-cat with pretty, pale blue eyes and a friendly smile.

Veiledwater- A dark bluish gray tom with pale gold eyes.

Murkyriver- A mottled gray and light brown tom with golden eyes.

Earthclaw- A tom with patched brown, gray, and black fur. He has a white mask, paws, and tail-tip. His eyes are gold. His mate is Graysight.

Smolderstripe- A dark gray and black tabby tom with cold, pale green eyes.

Queens: Patchpelt- A tortoiseshell she-cat. Her forepaws are black, while her hind paws are both golden. Her eyes are a pale shade of amber. Flameleap is her mate.

Graysight- A silver and black tabby she-cat with stormy gray eyes. Her mate is Earthclaw. Mother of Burnpaw.
Kits: Whitekit, Dustkit

Kits: Whitekit- A silver she-cat with stormy gray eyes. She has a snowy white mask.

Dustkit- A light brown tabby tom with golden eyes and a black tail-tip.

Jaggedkit- An oddly marked(with silver) black tom with midnight blue eyes. His teeth are broken and jagged from breaking them on a rock.

Elders: Longscar- A rocky gray tom with a long scar running from the side of his right eye (which is blind) all the way down to the top of his hind leg. He has light blue eyes.

Mousetooth- An elderly golden she-cat with gold eyes.




Lightningclan's territory has patches of pine forests scattered throughout it, the largest being along their border with Fogclan, part of which had been captured during a war. The ground is sandy and has several slopes. One of the borders of their land that isn't shared by the other Clans is a row of sheer cliffs. There are few sources of water here, and they defend those pieces of their territory furiously, as they are nearly all right by the borders. Lightningclan cats are well known for their strength and endurance, though they aren't very quick save for a few who can properly run on sand.  They are to the northwest with Fogclan to the east, Blizzardclan to the south, and Shiverclan to the southeast. They don't share a border with Shiverclan.

Important areas

~camp- The camp is an impressively spacious area large enough to house several more cats than those who occupy it. Many of the dens are caves constructed by a mixture of sandstone and sturdier stones. The leader's den is in an alcove within a large, sloped stone. The top is referred to as the Highstone - the place for Clan gatherings.

~Firetree- In the northern section of the territory is a towering pine, scorched by a forest fire. It still stands, but the inside is hollow. Many apprentices are taught to climb this tree (whether from a difficult technique through the inside, or using the burned branches). It's also a common nesting place for animals such as owls.

~Sandpits- Along the river cutting Lightningclan's territory in half, there are multiple spots that are too dangerous for cats to approach due to the naturally sandy territory. Whereas much of the riverbank is composed of stone and hardened mud, there are patches of waterlogged sand - quicksand, waiting for an unwary cat to be trapped and sink. All Clan cats are immediately taught to pick out and avoid these areas.



The Valley
How Cloudclan came to the valley was quite simple, really. Driven out of their former home, the survivors traveled into the mountains. Weary and half-starved, they were stunned to come across the beautiful valley. Shiverclan was the first to discover the ragged group and, pitying them, gave up a portion of their overlarge territory for Cloudclan to stay and prosper.

Cloudclan's Division
Several generations later, a conflict rose in the otherwise peaceful Clan. The leader at the time, Cougarstar, had begun to fall very ill (not only physically, but mentally). Then the deputy passed, and Cougarstar refused to appoint a new one - not even acknowledging the death of the first. Her Clan became unsure what to do at that point, until eventually deciding that they'd need to pick a deputy themselves. This was the start of the division.
The majority of votes were split between two Clanmates: the bold, powerful Fogstep, and the young, capable Lightningwisp. Arguments broke out and decisions delayed. That is, until Cougarstar finally perished, and Fogclan remained undecided.
The arguments escalated incredibly quickly. However, the first day of bloodshed, the two chosen reached a decision. "Those who wish for me to lead, follow me. Otherwise, stay with Fogstep," were the words of Lightningwisp. Then the Clan and its territory split in two, never to be rejoined.

War and Defeat
Since the division into two Clans, Lightningclan and Fogclan have always clashed - usually small spats on the border, some slightly more bold moves now and then. However, the tension escalated when Serpentstrike of Fogclan and Hollymask of Lightningclan - two cats with a personal hatred of the other - became leaders of their respective Clans. The conflicts quickly escalated in size until a full-out war was declared. Throughout the war, battles were held for the most part directly along the border. However, the winning move was dealt by Fogclan two moons into the war. Two large patrols got themselves caught in a border skirmish, and slowly began giving ground to the larger Lightningclan patrols. Overeager and sensing a possible win, the Lightningclan cats pursued their opponents... right up until they found themselves at an incredible disadvantage. They were surrounded in unfamiliar, waterlogged, vision-impairing territory by cats far more accustomed to their surroundings. Lightningclan was soundly defeated, and Fogclan was able to secure a large patch of territory lying between the two. Hollystar called the war off shortly after.


~Their prey primarily consists of birds and lizards.

~Their relationship with Fogclan is extremely tense and always has been. After a section of their territory was won at the end of the last war, they've been very overprotective of their borders to the extent of nearly killing those who cross them even if it's by mistake.


~Very few of their cats are capable of swimming and are uncomfortable in places that are wet.

~Gold and light brown are common pelt colors, and golden eyes are nearly as common. Nearly every leader and medicine cat in the Clan's history has had at least one of these traits - exceptions are incredibly rare.

Leoparddash- A golden she-cat with black spots like a leopard. Her eyes are gold. The first medicine cat of Lightningclan.

Sunriver- A large, pale ginger tom with green eyes that have flecks of gold. His right forepaw is white.

Nightleaf- A black tom with dark green eyes. Was mate to Spottedfur, father of Patchpelt and Waspclaw.
